The New Master in the Art of Aero

The natural evolution of our high-end aerodynamic bike used by professionals.

Filante SLR is an extremely lightweight aerodynamic bicycle with a significantly improved stiffness-to-weight ratio. We used the same materials and technology as in constructing the Wilier 0 SLR.

The result is a top-of-the-range, aerodynamic frame that complements our pure ascent bike used by Groupama - FDJ Cycling Team and Astana Qazaqstan Team.

Aerodynamic Design

Filante SLR was designed to maximize aerodynamic performance in real environmental conditions.

• The design was based on data recorded in the wind tunnel (where the wind is very clean for homogeneous empirical results) while also taking the real world into account.
• This approach evaluates typical wind tunnel data (yaw angles from -20° to +20°) and considers environmental turbulence that impacts the bike for many different reasons.

Key aerodynamic enhancements include:

• Redesigned profiles starting with the standard NACA airfoils/KAMM tail, now featuring softened angles to improve performance even when airflow is disturbed.
• The inside of the front fork has been widened by 7 mm, making it 13.6% wider than the Cento10PRO. This adjustment moves the fork blades away from the wheel, reducing turbulence and improving aerodynamics.

240 Fittings Available

Thanks to the redesigned fork steerer tube, which is no longer bevelled:

• Up to 35 mm of spacers can be installed under the handlebar.
• By combining frame sizes, handlebar sizes, and spacers, 240 different fittings can be achieved, with no overlap between combinations.
• This doubles with the two available seat posts, offering 15 mm or 0 mm setback options.

Lightweight and Responsive

The new aerodynamically optimized profiles allowed us to eliminate extra weight in the frame’s construction.

• The frame shape has no sharp edges, requiring less material and resin in the corners, improving homogeneity and reducing the frame’s weight to a mere 870 grams.
• The assembled bike with top-of-the-range specifications weighs just 6.8 kg.

The Filante monocoque handlebar is crafted with the same carbon used for the Wilier 0 SLR.

• By combining different types of carbon with Liquid-Crystal Polymer, unique fiber positioning, and advanced construction technology, we’ve achieved an exceptional level of lightness and stiffness.
• The lower overall weight, paired with exceptional stiffness, increases the stiffness-to-weight ratio (STW) by 12.5%. This improvement enhances steering precision and provides a feeling of safety at high speeds.

Handlebar and Integrated Cables

The new integrated carbon monocoque Filante Bar handlebar is not only lightweight (350 grams for the 101x42 size) but also houses the brake and derailleur cables, directing them inside the frame.

Its sinuous and rounded design ensures maximum grip ergonomics, combining simplicity with functionality.

Balanced Design

Six sizes, one feeling. The tube sections of various frame sizes were designed to maintain consistent rigidity, handling quality, and comfort across all sizes.

Easy-Fit Spacer

The spacers between the frame headset and the handlebar:

• Are made of a high-stiffness composite material with a special cavity for cables.
• Composed of two parts, they enable quick assembly and disassembly without interfering with the cables running from the handlebar to the frame.

Speed Release Thru Axle System

The Mavic Speed Release thru axle system is a standout feature:

• Enables the wheel to be quickly removed from the frame without fully extracting the axle from the wheel hub.
• This solution reduces wheel release and insertion time, cutting wheel change times by 7 seconds on average compared to traditional thru axle systems.
